Kansas City’s beloved holiday tradition returns with all the heart and spectacle you’ve come to love over 39 years. Join Ebenezer Scrooge on his redemptive journey with Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and rediscover the true meaning of the holidays. You’ll meet the Cratchits, Tiny Tim, and the irresistible Fezziwigs, and hear the joyous Candlelight Carol — all this and more, to kindle your Christmas spirit. Share the season with the people you love at A Christmas Carol.
This classic tale by Charles Dickens tells the story of Scrooge, who is unkind to the people who work for him, then refuses to give to charity, and then is rude to his nephew when he invites him to spend Christmas with him. When Scrooge gets home, he is visited by the ghost of his old business partner Jacob Marley – and then by three ghosts! They are the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. Can the three ghosts’ journey through time show Scrooge the errors of his ways?
According to Broadway World, “Kansas City Repertory Theatre's 'A Christmas Carol' is as much an iconic Kansas City holiday tradition as is the annual Plaza lighting ceremony every Thanksgiving evening. As good as it gets!”
The venue hosting the production, the Kansas Repertory Theatre, serves more than 100,000 patrons from a five-state region and the theatre’s Education and Outreach programs engage 10,000 school children from the two-state metropolitan area.
